Ronald J. "Bergey" Bergey, 57, of Gwinn, passed away on Monday night, April 26, 2021 at U.P. Health System- Marquette.
Bergey was born February 26, 1964 in Isabella County, Michigan to the late Jason and Eugenia (Bearup) Esch, Sr. He was a graduate of Gwinn High School and after graduation, joined the Army National Guard.
Bergey married the former Colleen M. DePottey on May 21, 1994 in Gwinn.
Bergey worked as an operator for the Canadian National Railway. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially four-wheeling and gardening, and loved spending time with his grandkids. He also never missed "happy hour" at the Happy Hour.
Bergey is survived by his wife Colleen Bergey; daughters, Linda (Alan) Mays and Roxanne (Jeff) VuLtaggio; sisters, Patricia (Steven) Beauchamp, Penny Sowden and Sandi (Scott) Mclean; brothers, Jason Esch Jr., Mark (Lilla) Esch and Fredrick Bergey; grandkids, Devin and Savannah Dachs, Dakota, Katelynn, Levi and Conner Dupras; and best buds, Pat Duvall and Fritz Johnson. Besides his parents, Bergey was preceded in death by his brothers, Rayland Bergey Jr. and Dennis Esch.
A celebration of Bergey's life will be held on Saturday, May 8th starting at 2:00 p.m. at the family home, 145 N. County Road 557, Gwinn, MI 49841.
