Roy Joseph Baldwin
May 20, 1931 - April 26, 2021

Roy Joseph Baldwin, 89, a loving man with a caring soul, of Bellevue, with his daughter, Terry for the past year.

Roy was born at home in Minneapolis, MN. the son of Joseph Sheldon Baldwin and Dorothy Elenor Shumaker. At age 5 the family moved into the house his dad built in Springlake Park.

The summer of 1948 Roy met Beverly Jean Sarico, when he saw her playing softball, calling her over to the fence asking if she'd go out with him. Roy would walk as he hitchhiked 6 miles to see her. Sometimes he got lucky and got a ride. They married on Flag Day, June 14, 1949, having five children Terry, Judith, April, Joseph and Belinda. Shortly after his marriage Roy enlisted in the Air Force, serving 23 years, taking his family to many places, with duty stations in New Foundland, Turkey, Crete, 7 statewide and a tour in Viet Nam, retiring, in Riverside CA and then working for The State of California Penal System, retiring in 1988. They moved to Tekamah, NE 1992 and then to Bellevue, NE in 2000.

A man of few words, Roy loved animals, fishing, peanut butter cookies a Minnesota Vickings fan through thick and thin.
His claim to fame would be a Model T Pickup at the bottom of Laddie Lake, him a buddy escaping the icy waters .

Together again with his wife of 65 years Beverly, infant daughter Belinda, granddaughter Donna Gans, parents, Joseph and Dorothy, sister Deloris King, brother Donald.

Roy leaves his children, Terry(Randal)Gans, Bellevue, NE, Judy(Arnold)Green, Franklinton, NC, April(Charles)Benedict, La Vista, NE, a son, Joseph(Maryann)Baldwin, Riverside CA. a sister Lorraine Esler, Camden TN. 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 gg grandchildren, cousin Jeanette, nieces and nephews.
