Elizabeth A. "Betty" Harvey, age 81, of Quincy, died Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 8:15 am in Sunset Home.

Betty was born July 5, 1939 in Knox City, Missouri, a daughter of Paul H. Sr. and Venilie A. Powers O'Neal. She married William Stretz On March 4, 1961 and George Makedonsky on December 17, 1977; both preceded her in death. She married Curtis Ray on February 8, 2002 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2007.

Betty was a 1957 graduate of Knox City High School. Over the years she worked as a clerk, secretary, and executive secretary at various places including: Moorman Manufacturing, Riteform, Inc. in West Chicago, Moline Malleable Iron Co. in St. Charles, IL, Quincy Travel Center, Illinois Veteran's Home, the Illinois Education Association, and for the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She also worked as a secretary/legislative aide for State Senator Laura Kent Donahue. Most recently, she had been employed as a case worker for the Illinois Department of Human Services for 17 years. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former member of Faith Christian Church, where she was also a member of the Jolly Seniors. Currently she was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include four children, Troy (Mary) Stretz of Rochelle, IL, Eric (Janet Townsend) Stretz of Quincy, Adam Stretz of Quincy, and Kyle (Fawn) Makedonsky of Liberty; three stepchildren: Curt (MaryJo) Harvey of Pesotem, IL; Brad Harvey of Urbana, IL; and Candice Hanlin of Quincy; numerous grandchildren; four siblings, Margaret R. (Norbert) Dixon of Quincy; Harriet M. (Ewell) Andrews of Virginia, IL; Charles (Marilyn) O'Neal of Lewistown, MO; and Philip (Cheryl) O'Neal, Sr. of Maywood, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings: Minnie O'Neal, Willa J. Hunziker, Esther V. Sedelmeier, Paul O'Neal, Jr., John O'Neal, Robert O'Neal, Clarence "C.A." O'Neal, and Thomas O'Neal.

Services: Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery with Tom Dickerson officiating.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery

Visitation: There will be a private family visitation.
