Celia Faye Greenwell, age 85, of Quincy, formerly of Camp Point, died Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 12:20 pm in the Good Samaritan Home
Faye was born September 26, 1935 in Ontario, CA, the daughter of Carl and Jewell Mock Maxie. She married William B.Greenwell on February 28, 1953 in Fowler, California. He preceded her in death July 24, 2000. Faye was a 1953 graduate of Chaffey High School in Ontario, CA.
She had been employed at Sears, Maxwell Photography in Quincy, Daugherty Foods in Mendon and was an EMT with the North Adams County Ambulance Service. She had also been employed at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home and was a claims processor at Blue Cross/Blue Shield until her retirement in 2001.
Faye was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camp Point where she sang in the choir. She also served on the board of the Camp Point Public Library.
Survivors include her two children, Randy (Julie) Greenwell of Quincy, IL, and Lynnette (Don) Barton of Rockford, IL; 8 grandchildren, Chanel (Daniel) Bencomo, Amanda (Bryan) Smith, Eric (Belinda Boden) Greenwell, Andria Greenwell, Natasha (Brian) Gadomski, Joey (Alyssa) Lilikes, Sara (Eric) Martin and Greg (Rose) Barry, and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Graveside Services: Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.at Hersman Cemetery, in Hersman, Illinois with Rev. Aaron Kuhn officiating
There will be no visitation but friends are invited to the service.
