KENNETH JAMES CECKIEWICZ
November 26, 1938 - April 14, 2021

Msgt. Kenneth J. Ceckiewicz, (Ret), 82, of Marquette, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 14, 2021 at U.P. Health System-Marquette with his loving family at his side.

Ken was born on November 26, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Theodore and Anna (Brudecka) Ceckiewicz. He was a Fordson High School graduate, Dearborn, Michigan in 1957. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country for 23 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant from the former K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base. He was particularly proud of his service during the Vietnam War.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, Ken was employed by White Pine Copper Mine in White Pine, Michigan as an instrumentation foreman.

Ken possessed an extreme love of Upper Michigan. In his free time he loved stream trout fishing, was an extensive model train collector, and enjoyed metal detecting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, the former Therese M. Stauber whom he married on December 27, 1960 in Germany; three children, Cheryl Sorelle of Marquette, Steven (Jeanne) Ceckiewicz of Abrams, WI and Renee Alfaro of Vancouver Island, Canada; five grandchildren, Shannon Sorelle, Joshua Raish, Tyler (Miranda) Raish, Myka Alfaro, and Brendan Ceckiewicz; five great grandchildren, Ada Nault, Lucille Neubauer, Olive Neubauer, Lillian Raish, and Jaxon Raish. Preceding him in death besides his parents were two brothers, Richard and Theodore Ceckiewicz; one sister, Elaine Ceckiewicz; also an infant grandson, Jason Ceckiewicz.

A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Cathedral with the Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating.

"Oh merciful savior, send thine angels to conduct thy departed servant to a place of refreshment, light and peace. Amen"
