In loving memory of

Patricia "Patty" M. Lusher
July 3, 1961 - April 6, 2021

Patricia M. "Patty" Lusher, 59, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 4:20 P.M., with her family by her side. She is now at peace and at home with the Lord, her baby girl Terra, and her parents. Patty was born on July 3, 1961, in Marion, Indiana, to the late David and Emily (Pence) Gillespie. She attended Mississinewa High School. Patty worked at General Motors, in Marion. For many years she worked in the cafeteria but had spent the last eleven years on the janitorial staff. She was a past member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 95, in Jonesboro.

Patty loved playing BINGO, rummaging, boating, camping, and being in and around water. She would float for hours and enjoyed visiting the ocean the most. Patty liked to travel, her favorite trip ever was when she and her son Matt traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Patty had a group of women that were her "Soul Sisters", some were blood-related and some were not. These soul sisters have been through thick and thin with each other for many many years. If you were considered one of her sisters, you were blessed. Patty loved taking girl trips with her Hoosier Hunnies. Patty was also a part of another special group, every Sunday all were welcome to join, but Beth Southerland, Juanita Herring, and Tammy Sexton would all gather with Patty to make breakfast, listen to the Church Sermon by Pastor Charlie at Abundant Life Church in Kokomo via live stream, and play the board game aggravation.

What Patty loved most in life was spending time with her kids, grandchildren, family, and friends. Patty loved with all of her being, she did not put up with any nonsense and was not afraid to tell you about it if you needed to hear it. She was a kind, loving, gentle, and generous soul. Patty was a fighter and fought hard as long as she could. She will be missed by many, and as she would always say, "Love Her".

Patty is survived by her children, Matthew "Matt" Lusher, AZ; Briana Southerland, Marion; grandchildren, Ashleigh Lusher, Kamryn, Noah, and Jaxon Southerland; brother, Brian "Bubba" Gillespie, Marion; sister, Jodi "Phyllis" Charette, Gas City; aunts, Debbie Cook, Marion; Billie (Steve) Siefert, AZ; Marcia Mcquiston, Kokomo; uncles, Joey (Cheryl) Pence, Syracuse; Terry (Cindy) Pence, Wabash; great-aunt, Wavelyn Booth, AZ; special son-in-law, Nick Southerland, Gas City; nephew, Cody Tedder, Marion; nieces, Lindsey (Troy) Dubois, Mier; Laci Tedder, Fowlerton; Tori Gillespie, Gas City; Taylor Gillespie, Gas City; and Emma Miller, Gas City; along with many more nieces, nephews, and cousins; among these cousins there were a few that were special caregivers to Patty, who are greatly appreciated, Melissa Smith, Gas City; Stephnie LaVasseur, Kokomo; Tammy (A.K.A Husband) Sexton, Marion; and Heidi Maine, Gas City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Emily (Pence) Gillespie; brother, David Lewis Gillespie Jr.; sister, Theresa JoAnne Gillespie; and her daughter, Terra Gillespie.

On behalf of all of Patty's family, they would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home for the top-notch care they provided to Patty during the last two weeks of her life. "I didn't really know Patty personally, I only heard about her through my best friend, Stephnie LaVasseur, and reading posts about her on Facebook from her cousin about the heroic battle that she was fighting. Patty endured, such a struggle and fight that I know was hard for her family and friends to witness. My love, heart, and prayers go out to all of Patty's family and friends. God Bless. May she Rest In Heavenly Peace with the Angels above while using her wings to fly down from the Heavens to watch over her loved ones to make sure they are safe. "

"I didn't really know Patty personally, only heard about her through my sister, Cheryl, and reading posts about her on Facebook from her brother, Brian. I understand the fight that Patty endured, such a struggle and fight, as I experienced this same loss recently with my daughter. Both lives with so much to give, taken too soon. My heart goes out to all of Patty's family. God Bless."
