Bonnie M. McNett
May 12, 1932 - April 7, 2021

Bonnie M. McNett, age 88, of Payson, died on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 11:45 am in her home, surrounded by family.

Bonnie was born May 12, 1932 in El Dara, Illinois, the daughter of Leslie and LaVeta May Foster Hoskins. She married Thomas McNett on January 30, 1955 in Grace United Methodist Church in Quincy. He survives.

Bonnie was a Registered Nurse who had worked at a numbers of hospitals over the years, including Blessing Hospital in Quincy and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hannibal, MO. She spent the most recent 20 years working in the office of Dr. Walter Stevenson. Bonnie was a bird and animal lover, and her backyard was something of a wildlife sanctuary that drew squirrels, wild turkey, and deer. She also enjoyed tending her large half acre garden, and canning the fruits of her and her children's labor. Bonnie was also an excellent cook, who enjoyed cooking and baking. However, her true love was sharing her delicious creations with family and friends.

In addition to her husband, survivors include five children: Steven (Gaye) McNett of Mineola, TX; Stanley McNett of Quincy; Marilyn McNett; Nancy Bernzen of Quincy, IL; and Chuck (Carol) McNett of Payson, IL; eight grandchildren: Robert (Jackie) McNett, Laura (Jeff) Fangman, Andria Harscher, Nicholas (Alanna) Harscher, Greg (Belynda) Bernzen, Kim (Matt) Beswick, and Bridget and Kyle McNett; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Lowell (Anne) Hoskins of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Bill Bernzen.
