Thomas Nicholas Lehnertz, 87 of Rollingstone, died Saturday, April 3, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Tom was born on August 12, 1933 in Winona to Raymond and Gertrude (Walch) Lehnertz. On November 22, 1958 he married Marlene Elizabeth "Bets" Mueller at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba, MN.
Tom and Bets enjoyed their lives together and raised their family of nine on the Lehnertz Family homestead where they maintained a 60 Holstein herd of dairy cattle. Tom proved to be an industrious, tireless and creative farmer until he transitioned into facilities maintenance in the 1980's. In Tom's second career as a licensed boiler operator, he was employed by St. Stanislaus school and church, from which he retired in 1996.
Tom enjoyed sports his entire life. When he could no longer play, his greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Tom also enjoyed drives with family to see friends and relatives. He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a very proud Luxembourger.
Tom is survived by his children, Randall (Donna Olson) Lehnertz of Winona, MN, Tom "Speck" (Tammy) Lehnertz of Fremont, IN, Norbert (Hortensia) Lehnertz of Lewisville, TX, Ann (John) Brogan of St. Charles, MN, Raymond Lehnertz of Seattle, WA, Terry Lehnertz of Robbinsdale, MN, Joe (April) Lehnertz of Goodview, MN, Lucy Lehnertz of Rollingstone, MN, and Katharine (Ryan) McGill of New Hope, MN. Grandchildren, Adam, Benjamin, Chari, Ashley, Ryan, Mallory, Katie, Michael, Christopher, Isabella, Sydney, Paul, Mara, Joshua, Zachary, Sarah, Nicole, Megan, Angela, Garret, and Adaline; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Harper, Ira, Estelle, Ezra, Keller, Soren, Declan, Ava, Paisley, Braiden, Connor, Andrew, Daxton, Taylor and Vada and sister-in-law Rita Lehnertz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bets; grandson A.J.; and siblings, Ronald, Mary, and Paul.
A public visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 83 Main St. Rollingstone, MN 55969. There will be a private family mass and burial in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Masks and social distancing will be required.
