MICHAEL R. MACARIO
March 25, 1944 - March 30, 2021

Michael R. Macario, 77, of Princeton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at his home, with his family by his side and under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice.

He was born March 25, 1944 in Ishpeming, a son of the late Joseph and Aune (Ranta) Macario.

Mike enlisted in the US Air Force in 1965 and served his country for 20 years as an administration technician and personnel superintendent before retiring in 1985. Following his retirement, Mike worked as a store manager in Newport News, VA.

He married Barbara Crump in Newport News, VA on October 25, 2003 and the couple relocated to the Gwinn area in 2005.

Mike was a member of the Little Lake American Legion. His interests included hunting, golf and playing in cribbage and horseshoe leagues.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Macario of Princeton; children, Michael R. (Debra) Macario, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, April Macario of Newport News, VA, Shannon Macario of Williamsburg, VA and Raymond Macario of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Aaron Macario, Seth Peterman, Parker & Jameson Arnold and Makenna Miller; siblings, Patti Armatti of Branson, MO, John (Kathy) Macario of Gwinn and Joey (Suzie) Macario of Princeton; nieces & nephews; and beloved dog, Whiskey. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm at the Gwinn VFW.
