"We gone miss you ??"
Carolyn Lee was born March 6, 1962 through the union of Calvin Lee, Sr., and Ollie Lee. She is the seventh of nine children. Since that joyous day in '62 the world became a kinder, funnier, and more loving place. Her presence was easily felt, and she touched anyone who had the privilege of meeting her.
Growing up she was a gifted student. Her family, friends, and peers fondly recall her academic excellence as she achieved straight A's from kindergarten through college. She was also a superlative athlete. Having competed in track, cheerleading, and excelling in events such as the high jump. Though she had many accomplishments in her life and made many lifelong friends during her time in Bass Elementary, Mahalia Jackson and Lewis University, the accomplishment she was most proud of was becoming a parent. On August 21, 1986 she welcome her beloved first-born son Antonine Sanders, Jr., into the world. The following year she had her baby boy Parnell Lee. Motherhood forever changed Carolyn as she put all her energy into raising her two boys to be men of value and principle. This became the next task that she not only accomplished but excelled in. The only thing Carolyn loved more than spending time with her kids was spending time with her grandchildren Ty'Mari Lee and Kaiya Sanders.
Carolyn was known for her tremendous heart, strong mind and body, quick wit, quirky personality, infectious laugh, and her ability to be the life of the party. She beat every obstacle that came in front of her whether it was being a phenomenal mother and provider, beating a brain aneurysm or being unscathed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Her inner and outer strength were a sight to behold. On Friday, February 26, 2021 Carolyn had a stroke, but her unwavering strength allowed her to continue to fight. After being cleared for rehabilitation, she continued to fight for the opportunity to be with her loved ones, to give us one more smile, one more laugh, one more hug, and one more social media post of inspiration. God had a different plan for Carolyn. He gifted her with the opportunity to join Him in His kingdom, welcoming her with open arms and a full heart. She transcended to the Lord's embrace on March 25, 2021.
While in His kingdom, Carolyn is survived by her parents Calvin Lee, Sr., and Ollie Lee, siblings Patty Joe, Clifton, Doris, Calvin Lee, Jr., Maurice, Brian and Nicole, children Antoine Sanders, Jr., and Parnell Lee, and beloved grandchildren Ty'Mari Lee and Kaiya Sanders. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Carolyn is preceded in death by her brother Dan and sisters Pat and Brenda.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the love, compassion, prayers, and memories that have been shared. May you all continue to live prosperously in His divine favor. We leave you with this quote from Carolyn, in response to her son's social media post. We encourage you to act on these words.
"What are some habits you have with your child or children that you didn't know until someone pointed it out to you?"
Her response - "I still tell my son's, 'I love you' often and I still like giving jaw kisses too. Love you boys!!!!"
"We gone miss you ??"
