Phyllis A. Kuhn
September 15, 1932 - March 28, 2021

A private family funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. A public visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. Interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery, Algona. Social distancing practices will be followed, and masks are recommended. Phyllis Ann (Richardson) Kuhn was born September 15, 1932 in Algona, IA the daughter of Paul H. and Helen (Godden) Richardson. She grew up in Algona graduating from Algona High School in 1950.

On May 1, 1953 she was united in marriage to William R. Kuhn at the First Baptist Church in Algona. Phyllis drove school bus for the Algona Community School district for 31 years, Hy-Vee Pharmacy for 5 years, and assisted her husband for the Des Moines Register for 14 years, while he was the district manager.

Phyllis enjoyed reading, playing cards, and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Alter Guild, and lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary. She volunteered at the KRHC at the front desk and was a Pink Lady.

Phyllis died Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center. She was 88.

She is survived by her children, Rick Kuhn of Algona, Cindy (Larry) Kutzner of Casa Grande, Arizona, Pam Rahm of Algona, Bill III Kuhn of Council Bluffs, Kay (Merril) Friedrich of Algona, and Vickie (Joel) Mangold of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren, 34 great- grandchildren, brother, David (Judy) Richardson of Boone; sister-in-law, Marilyn Garman of Algona; and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Bill, daughter-in-law, Renea Kuhn, brother, Jim Richardson; and brother-in-law, Kenny Garman.
