Asihna C. Ernest, 52, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at her home.
A celebration of Asihna's life will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Maquoketa Island Church (Faith Community Church) in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 Noon to 1 P.M. at the church. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
Asihna C. Charley was born on August 18, 1968 in Pohnpei, Micronesia to Iksahle and Dohra (Scaliem) Charley. She attended school at Pingelap Elementary School, and later Pohnpei Island Central High School. She married Junior Siliang in 1992 in Koror, Palau.
Asihna had worked as a Certified Nurses Aide in Detroit, Michigan, and then at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa. She most recently had worked as a Direct Support Professional at DAC Inc./Imagine the Possibilities in Maquoketa for several years.
She was a member of the Maquoketa Island Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Those left to honor Asihna's memory include her husband Junior Siliang of Maquoketa, IA; sons, Bryan Siliang and Duane Ernest, both of Maquoketa, IA; sister, Ansilyn (Dakes) Eliam of Maquoketa, IA; and a brother, Stanley Charley of Maquoketa, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Charley Aiseam and a sister Nora Capelle.
