August 22, 1957 - March 17, 2021

Brad F. Ashby, 63, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa.

At Peace Cremation Services have been provided by Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. There will be no public visitation or services held.
Brad Frederick Ashby was born on August 22, 1957 in Monticello, Iowa, to Darrell and Grace (Grief) Ashby. He grew up in Monticello and attended Monticello schools. He married Laurie Gottleaber on July 12, 1985 in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Brad was a lifelong trainer of standardbred harness racehorses. He traveled all over Iowa and Illinois and spent many years living in Monticello and Maquoketa.

Brad loved horses and enjoyed fishing as well.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Laurie Ashby of Maquoketa, IA; children, Jennifer (Russell) Eisenhart of Marion, IA, and Justin (Nicole) Ashby of Marion, IA; 2 grandchildren, Kailey and Seven; a half-brother, Ron Balsinger of SC; and a half-sister, Debbie Ball of Burlington, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
