Daniel W. Kinney, 24, of Springfield, formerly of Elmwood, passed away at 1:22 a.m., on Monday, March 16, 2021, in Springfield, IL.
He was born in Springfield and came to live in Elmwood after being adopted and raised by John and Elizabeth "Beth" (Martin) Kinney. They survive.
He is also survived by one brother, Michael Kinney; two aunts, Kandice Guppy and Sarah Cox; four special cousins, Patrick, Thomas, Abigail, and Nathan Cox; and many more aunts and uncles.
Daniel loved playing and watching sports with his dad, John. He spoke last to his dad on Monday morning to talk about the Illini basketball game on Sunday. Daniel always seemed like a lost soul. Maybe now he can find peace.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
