"We met Bert because he sat behind us at the Q.U. basketball games. He was such a gentleman and was always interesting to walk with. We were amazed at his energy and his love of bowling. He sure enjoyed his yearly Christmas trip to watch the high school basketball tourney. We will miss him when we get back to Q.U. basketball. Our sympathy to you."

"Bert was the youngest 90+ year old I've ever known. To say he left us too soon at 96 seems funny, but that's sure how it feels. He loved his family first and foremost. He had a great sense of humor, which was passed on to his son's. He was kind, energetic, funny, loved to laugh, and always a pleasure to talk to. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. It was my privilege to have known him."
