Marion was born on January 14, 1927 in Santa Ana, CA. The oldest of seven children, Marion grew up on a farm in Delta, Utah. She graduated from Delta High School and moved to California after graduation to work at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. Marion would take the Pacific Electric Red Car from Compton where she lived with her aunt.
It was here that she met her husband, Neilan. They moved to Inglewood, CA and had the first 4 of 6 children. They moved to Whittier in 1955 with 4 of their children. Their last two girls were born in Whittier where they made their home until Neilan died in 2009. Marion was fortunate to have lived in her own home until her passing.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Neilan, Her son, Edward (Belinda) in 1998, and her daughter Judith in 2002.
Marion is survived by her children, Susan (Dan), Donna (Chuck), Robbie (Milt), and Diane (Mike), her grandchildren, Devin (Manuel), Amy, Geoff (Robyn), Christopher, Brian (Lindsey) and 3 great grandchildren (Samuel, Sara and Amelia), her sisters, Jean, Dode, and Virginia, and her three brothers Jack, Mathew and Tony.
Marion was fortunate to spend 94 wonderful years with her children and grandchildren whether it was in Whittier or in their Lake Arrowhead home where they spent many wonderful summers and vacations. Hinshaws was also her career for many years and met many lifelong friends.
