Layne Damgaard, 58, of Carson, IA passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, IA. Private family graveside will be held at the Carson Cemetery in Carson, IA with Rev. Michael Slininger officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson is caring for Layne and his family.

Layne Damgaard, 58, of Carson, IA passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, IA.
Layne Jay Damgaard, one of three sons of Bruce and E. Lucille (Armstrong) Damgaard, was born on July 27, 1962 in Harlan, IA. He graduated from the Carson-Macedonia High School in 1980. Layne lived in Waterloo, IA for over 30 years. He worked as a cabinet maker for Omega Cabinetry for almost 26 years until he became ill. In October 2020 he moved back to Carson.
Layne loved sports, especially watching his nieces and nephews play sports; and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed playing fantasy football.
Layne is preceded in death by his mother, Lucille; brother, Vern.
Layne is survived by his father, Bruce Damgaard of Carson, IA; brother, Gail Damgaard and his wife Jenni of Big Spring, TX; sister in law, Kathy Damgaard of Carson, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of many special friends.
