In loving memory of

Cleo Lee Robinson
December 21, 1918 - March 5, 2021

Cleo Lee Robinson, age 102, of Quincy, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 10:15 am in Sunset Home.

Cleo was born December 21, 1918 in LaGrange, Missouri, the daughter of Lenvil and Emmalee Calsaw Lewis. She married Donald Elgin Robinson on August 18, 1945 in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1971.

Cleo was employed as a housekeeper for many years taking care of Mr. and Mrs. Rome Arnold, Mrs. Mary Jane Neville, and the Daniel Barry family. Cleo was a member of Green Chapel Baptist Church in LaGrange, MO.

Cleo was a very giving, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her door was always open, never a stranger in her house. She never complained about anything. To Texas Balderas and Cornelia Theys she was like a second mother. She loved reading, especially Danielle Steel novels, and watching Golden Girls and westerns on TV.

Cleo is survived by her daughter, Karen Lynetta (Willie) Baldwin of Quincy; six grandchildren, Sheldon (Teresa) Robinson of Quincy, Melanie Pipkins of Quincy, Donyale (Randall) Lewis of Houston, TX, Broderick (Tracy) Baldwin of Chicago, IL, Tiffany (Steve) Batiste of Tucson, AZ, and Chycas (Brandy) Baldwin of Houston, TX; ten great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ciara, Kennedy, Jaela, Ron Jr., Kylan, Makiah, Nathan, Ian, and Olivia; a brother, Wayne Lewis of LaGrange, MO; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Lewis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Cleo is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Richard "Buck" Lewis, Ralph Milton Lewis and Wilford Lewis, and three sisters, Frieda Lewis, Lottie Humphrey, and June Scott.

Texas Balderas wrote on Mar 7, 2021:

"Cleo was one of the most amazing people I ever met. She worked for my grandmother, and then my mother for many , many years. I never saw her in a bad mood. She always exhibited the character of Christ in all she did. She told me once she felt she was put on this earth to take care of people, and she did that with excellence! I know she took care of her own mother and aunt in her own home for a number of years, while she took care of our mother during the days. I used to talk to her about my frustrations with my mother when I was a teenager and about boys I dated :) She was a great listener! I considered her family and told her she was the most "normal" person in our family. I know she kept many family secrets, because she sure saw plenty over the years! I rejoice in knowing that she is now with Jesus and I look forward to seeing her again. I loved her very much. Texas Crew Balderas "
