In loving memory of

Robert W. Warren
February 4, 1935 - February 26, 2021

Robert W. Warren, 86, passed away on February 26, 2021 in Phoenix, AZ, one month after contracting COVID-19. He was proud to be born and raised in Phoenix AZ. Until the very end, he would say he lived in the greatest place in the world. Bob grew up on 13th St. and Culver. He attended Garfield grade school, Whittier middle school, and Phoenix Union High School. He started college at The University of Arizona, which was interrupted by his service in the Korean War. When he returned from his tour of duty, he completed his college education at Arizona State University.

Bob was a successful contractor; he began working for JH Welsh & Sons before starting his own company. He loved his industry, and quickly grew a reputation as an honest man with a firm handshake. He made many friends through the years. His friends were important to him and he made sure to see them regularly at Durant's, The American Italian Club, Phoenix City Grill, Sierra Bonita, Dodey's and various honky tonks. There are far too many friends to name, he loved and cherished his time with all of you, you made his life better.

Bob was a council member at SRP for 30 years. He was honored to be associated with such an outstanding company in our community. He was proud of all their accomplishments attained during his tenure and cherished his colleagues. Bob was a lifelong ASU fan. He enjoyed sports, the snow, the desert, a steak, a cold beer and a glass of Jack Daniels. He loved the rodeo, or more importantly, the festivities that went along with a rodeo. He had been to Cheyenne, Calgary, and many small towns along the way celebrating rodeos.

He was blessed with a family who loved him as much as he loved them. He is survived by his brother Pat Warren (Ellen), his partner Barbara Jean Sattler, son Michael Warren (Shannon), grandchildren, Madeline, Elizabeth, Charlie, Katherine and son Matthew Warren (Angela), grandchildren, Shannon, Daphne, Eve, Jude, and Willow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite and Clint Warren, his sister, Jan McKee, and his wife of 41 years Claire Warren.

He will be remembered as a good son, a good brother, a good husband, and a good dad. He was strong, hardworking, honest, loved his family, loved his friends, loved to laugh, and loved a well poured drink. He had a good life.

A celebration of life in honor of Bob will occur at a time more appropriate for a large gathering. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to The Foundation for Blind Children, 1234 East Northern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85020.

Sheri Stroud wrote on Mar 7, 2021:

"My deepest sympathies to Bob\'s family. I met him back in the early 80s when he did a project for my dad, who was in his seventies at the time. The two of them bonded (my dad was a contractor in his early days) and Bob would often come by to visit with him after the project was finished. I ran into Bob many, many times over the years at local bars and restaurants. He always gave me a hug and we would catch up. I will miss him -- the neighborhood won\'t be the same without him. He was a true gentleman."

Cliff Sullivan wrote on Mar 7, 2021:

"Its probably been 75 years since I last saw Bobby. That would have been at Garfield School in the 5th or 6th grade. If I remember right I can still see him in my \"minds eye\" standing there in his Levis with those high cuffs . I was from down the road a piece at 13th St and Taylor. Bobby was a good guy then and apparently still at 86! God bless. Cliff Sullivan "
