Cheryl Ruth Favela a long time resident of Firebaugh passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her residence in Firebaugh. She was 51.
Cheryl was born January 6, 1963 in Hanford, California. The daughter of Floyd and Iva (Crapo) Qualls. She lived in Mendota, Firebaugh area for 36 years. She relocated from Lemoore to Mendota in 1978, and then moved to Firebaugh where she attended local schools. After graduating from Firebaugh High School in 1981, she worked for the City of Firebaugh for three years then worked as Post Master/Clerk for the U.S Postal Service for 15 years.
She met the love of her life Antonio and they married March 18, 1995 in Mendota, CA. She attended the Mendota Pentecostal Church of God for many years. She will be greatly missed and remembered fondly and lovingly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Pastor Floyd J.C. and Iva Marie Qualls.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband; Antonio L. Favela of Firebaugh, CA, two children; John Dalton and Cherokee Rose Favela of Firebaugh, one brother; Paul Qualls of Armona, CA and one sister Rebecca Garcia of Mendota, CA.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Mendota Pentecostal Church of God from 9-10 am followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Burial at the Dos Palos Cemetery District. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Dos Palos.
