Mary Sue Palermo
April 17, 1923 - July 4, 2015

Mary Sue Palermo, 92, passed away on July 4, 2015 in Hughson, CA. She was born in Kress, Texas on April 17, 1923. She moved to Los Banos in 1950 where she met her husband, Dominic Palermo and they married on August 30, 1950. Their favorite times together were spent with their precious dog, Tina. Sue also worked at Los Banos Drug as a clerk in the pharmacy for many years. She lived at Avalon Healthcare in Modesto for 5 years, and most recently went to the Hospice House in Hughson, CA. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, gospel music, baking, reading, and sewing. She enjoyed oil painting of which she was very proud, and she won several awards at the May Day Fair in Los Banos. She belonged to the Los Banos Arts Council, and was a parishioner of the United Methodist Church in Los Banos.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband Dominic Palermo; parents: Isom McCorkall and Lillian Irene Reynolds; brother: Jim “Doy” Wood; sister: Norma Mae White; niece: Janet French; and a nephew: Jerry Palermo.
Survivors include her sister-in-law Ramona Weatherly of Amarillo, TX; nephews: Kenneth and Everett White of Georgia, Ken Ellison of Escondido, CA; nieces: Linda Vineyard and Karen Wade both of Amarillo, TX. sister-in-law Teresa Palermo Trost (Robert) of LeGrand; nephews: Clifford and Jim Reese; nieces: Isabel Reese and Shelley Gomes (Ken); sister-in-law Eveyln Palermo of Los Banos; also 4 great nephews and 1 great niece.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate remembrances be made to the Hospice House, 2201 Euclid Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. Services are under the direction os Whitehurst Funeral Chapel~Los Banos.
