Mercedes Reyes Adrian was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 30, 1924. In 1947 she relocated to and made her home in Los Banos with her two children. She worked at Tiny’s Restaurant where she served meals to patrons for 20 years. After her retirement, she married Louie Adrian. They
made their home in New Mexico. While living in Mexico, Mercedes enjoyed fishing, hunting,
gardening, and spending time with friends. She returned to Los Banos after the death of her
husband in 1989. For several years she once again served meals to Los Banos residents as a volunteer driving for the Meals on Wheels program. In her final years, Mercedes enjoyed playing
bingo and spending time with her family. She was involved with St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Golden Agers.
Mercedes is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, one grandson and one great-great granddaughter.
She is survived by her son Mario (Sherry) Reyes Sr.; her daughter Imelda (Ray) Zavala; her sister Cuca Rodriguez; three brothers: Ralph Reyes, Roberto Reyes and Juan Henojosa; eight grandchildren, twenty greatgrandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces and her beloved cat, Tiger.
Services will be held at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 14, 2015, visitation 9-10:00 a.m., with rosary at 10:00 a.m. and Chapel services at 10:30 a.m. Services under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel ~Los Banos.
