October 31, 1960 - February 14, 2016
Janet Marie Loewen, 55, passed away on February 14, 2016. Janet was a Los Banos native and attended local schools, graduating from Los Banos High School in 1978. She married her high school sweetheart Gene Loewen, they were married 38 years.
Janet began her career in bookkeeping at a very young age, starting in high school. She would keep books for various local businesses. She worked for Sagouspe Enterprises as their bookkeeper for over 27 years.
She was a devoted wife and mother; and friend to many. She enjoyed a good glass of wine,
antiquing, and home decorating. Her love of animals was almost obsessive; she would pick up
strays and always find them a home (usually hers).
She is preceded in death by her father, Tony Laranjo.
Janet is survived by her loving husband Gene; her daughter Sydney; mother Theresa Laranjo; one brother, Steve (Carol) Laranjo; one sister, Pam (Joey) Matheson; one sisterly niece, Cherie (Michael) Miranda; one aunt Isaltine Laranjo; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A visitation will be held at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.; the rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.; on Friday, February 19, 2016 a memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Los Banos Volunteers for Animals, 1010 Airport Road, Los Banos, CA 93635.
Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel~Los Banos.
