In loving memory of

John Alarcon
July 12, 1946 - March 4, 2017

John Alarcon, son of Jesse and Sally Alarcon, was born July 12, 1946, in Dos Palos, CA. He attended local schools in Dos Palos. He later played drums and bass guitar in a local band at parties.

John worked for PG&E for more than 40 years. He was a lineman, foreman, truck driver, and he worked in the office. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, listening to Freddy Fender and Doo-Wop music, and working around the yard. He also played adult softball for Union Chemical in his younger years. Most of all, he enjoyed vacationing with his wife, Cruz, and spending time with his grandkids.

John had a love for history and enjoyed talking about it. He would take road trips with his wife and grandkids to teach them about the local birds and wildlife, quizzing them along the way. Prior to becoming sick, John had a zest for life. He never wasted any daylight. He was up early and stayed up late, either working in the yard, or enjoying his weekend. On Saturday, March 4th, John passed away peacefully, at home, with his wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Toni and Mary.

His memory will be treasured in the lives of his wife, Cruz, son, Andy (Sandra), grandchildren
Andy Jr., Ariana (Donnell), Avian, and great-grandson, Donnell III. He also leaves behind children Christie, John Jr., and Rick (Sonia), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers: Joe, Louie, Jesse, Bobby, and David, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, beginning with a visitation from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. followed by a Chapel Service at 2:00 p.m. Services under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel ~ Los Banos.
