Jessie Hernandez Yniguez, a resident of Dos Palos, CA passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at her residence in Dos Palos. She was 79.
She was born January 16, 1938 in Santa Maria, CA the daughter of Pedro and Jovita (Torres) Hernandez.
Jessie married Guadalupe Yniguez on November 15, 1955. She was employed by the Pajaro Valley Unified School District as a Teacher’s Aide for 17 years. Jessie retired from what she loved doing, working with children and moved to Dos Palos in 2002 from Watsonville.
Jessie was a hard working wife and mother, raising eight children as she attended San Jose State University receiving her AA degree.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Dos Palos Senior Citizen and also a volunteer on election voter day. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sharing her funny sense of humor, joking and her smile that brightens the room, her passion for the casino and playing bingo. She was the life of the party. She will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Yannone, Peter, Tommy, Bobby and Emilio Hernandez, Tillie Enriquez and Lupe Marquez.
Jessie is survived by her husband, Guadalupe Yniguez, eight children, Joe Yniguez of Watsonville, Elizabeth Ann Castro of Salinas, Angelina Yniguez of San Juan Bautista, Everett Yniguez, II of Chowchilla, Ralph Yniguez of Corralitos, Felix Jacinto and Susan Yniguez of Dos Palos and Jesse James of Scotts Valley, five siblings, Ponciano Hernandez, Mary Sanchez, Mary Lou Preciado of Watsonville, Teresa Basia of Bakersfield and Cecilia Choats of Moss Landing, 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A visitation will begin Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 4pm at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Dos Palos. The Rosary will be recited at 6pm. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11 am at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in the Los Banos Cemetery District in Los Banos, CA. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Dos Palos.
