May 14, 1924 - May 25, 2017
Amelio was born on May 14, 1924 to Andrew and Dominica Duni in Arcata, California and passed away on May 25, 2017 at the age of 93. Slim was a beloved member of the Los Banos Community. He owned dairy and beef cows, farmed, and worked seasonally as a hunting guide in Idaho. He was a cowboy at heart and even a member of the Sheriff’s Posse in the late 40’s, Rodeo, FFA, Ducks Unlimited, California Waterfowl Association and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. His smile was contagious. His love for family was always first. Amelio is preceded in death by his wife Bernice and sons, Donald and Ronnie. He is survived by his sister Cecilia, his brother Andrew, his two sons, Duane (Joyce) and Danny, his daughter-in-law, Thais, his seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and his companion Nadine.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 5-7pm with Rosary at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, 1840 S. Center Ave, Los Banos. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1621 Center Ave, Los Banos. Burial at the Los Banos Cemetery.
