Oscar Flores Avila
February 7, 1969 - July 21, 2017

Oscar Flores Avila, 48, passed away on July 21, 2017 in San Jose, CA. Oscar was born in Fresno and raised in Dos Palos. He attended local schools and met his high school sweetheart, Tina Perry, in 1985. Oscar graduated in the Class of 1987 from Dos Palos High School; and married Tina on February 23, 1991. They made their home in Los Banos and raised their three children there. Oscar began working at CCID when he was 19 and continued working there for 25 years; and for the last two years Oscar had been working for the Merced County Assessor’s Office. Oscar was a huge sports fan, his favorite football team being the 49ers. He always loved hanging out with his many friends. He was a good friend that you could always count on with a huge smile or a helping hand. Oscar’s true love was his wife and he devoted himself to her and his great kids. They were his biggest joy in life. Oscar is survived by his wife, Tina Avila; children: Tyler, Trey, and Janae Avila; parents: Oscar and Lorenza (Nena) Avila; and many other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Taylor Avila; brother, Rick Avila; maternal parents, Ramon and Maria Flores; and maternal Aunt Lupe Cortez.
Services for Oscar will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at The Father House, 1005 I Street, Los Banos. Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapels-Los Banos.
