Robert J. Taylor, a longtime resident of Mendota, California passed away in Fresno on Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was 82.
Robert was born September 19, 1935 in Visalia, California, the son of Herschel and Nedra (Arney) Taylor. He came to Mendota at a young age. Robert joined the United States Army in 1955. He served in the Korean War.
Robert was a volunteer Fire Fighter in Mendota, CA. He worked many years at Silver Creek Packing Shed as a forklift driver. He loved his job. Robert had the passion for fishing and hunting. He was infamously known for his bait shop (Tylor’s Bait). He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Nedra and four siblings.
He is survived by his son Bobby D. Taylor, daughters, Paula Denise Taylor, Judy Mejia, Elizabeth Fox, Nancy Ruiz, five grandchildren, Niena, Lisa, J.J., Jennifer and Summer, four great grandchildren, C.J., Shane, Jayden and Marcus, many family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Burial at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. in Santa Nella, CA. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Los Banos.

"It is a blessing he is with our father i can remember when i had came from L.A. and had know one but my dad i want to a store that a lady know my dad It was hell late she took me and his granddaughter and greatgranddaughter we stay the night and eat breakfast i said good by thanking him for puting us up love u dad rest in peace"

I was adopted out and didnt know him as a child, but we found each othet as an adult, and realized that u had found my home.. he answered questions for me that i thought were dreams..
