It is with great sadness that the family of Bonnie Eleanore Rice announces her passing on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at the age of 80 years. She was born on January, 31, 1938 in Minot, ND to her parents, Arnold and Beatrice Harstad. Bonnie grew up on a farm with many years of mischief, especially with her brother Arden. After graduating high school in 1956, Bonnie married LeRoy Thoreson and had two sons, Ricci and Troy Thoreson. She later divorced. Bonnie had a strong sense of independence. Bonnie was a home maker and loving Mother. She was an avid bowler, a Giants baseball fan, and collected glass chickens on a nest. In the 1980's, she married Bob Rice until his death in 2013. In recent years, she enjoyed talks with her sister Beverly Berg, playing Hay Day on her Ipad, and was an active user of Facebook.
Bonnie will be lovingly remembered by her children: Troy Thoreson (Deo) and Ricci Thoreson (Leesa); by her granddaughter, Lauren Kersten (Adam), by her sister, Beverly Berg, and by her brother, Aurlen Harstad. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rice and her brother, Arden Harstad.
A Memorial Service in memory of Bonnie will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 5:00 p.m., at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, 1840 Center Ave, Los Banos, CA 93635, In lieu of flowers, those who desire to make a memorial donation in memory of Mrs. Bonita Rice please do so to the American Lung Association.
