"The Cool Brother My oldest brother, Lionel, and I did not grow up together, not in the same house and hardly even in the same generation. When I came into awareness, he already had his own family, and I was right in the middle of his first four children. They were my playmates growing up. After reading his obituary and enjoying the many old photos that have been posted, I came to realize that there was a great deal about his early life that I never knew. I count it as precious to learn those things even now. I did have the good fortune over the past few years to have conversations with him and hear firsthand several stories about his childhood. My own earliest recollection of him was going often to his farm and admiring the very cool loud horn on his pickup truck. At the time, I really wished that we had one of those. As years and decades passed, I was often impressed by other cool things. Restored and flew a World War II plane way cool. Managed the vast scale of farming that he did check. Earned the high level of respect he did in the farming industry check. Consulted internationally dayum cool. Lived by a river cool and, yes, I was a little jealous. Lived in Montana at least to me, that was very cool. Could double for Sean Connery oh yeah. Even though I totally missed his first 23 years, he was always a generous and welcoming brother to me and a wonderful uncle to my kids. I know that he will be missed on many levels. However, when I was again looking through some of the old photographs, I literally had a big grin. I realized that my big brother is now the first of us siblings again seeing dear ones who passed before. John Caeton"
