Kathleen Lee Sartor

Kathleen Lee Sartor was born and raised in Los Banos. She attended Los Banos schools graduating from Los Banos High School in 1967. Upon graduating she attend Fresno City College and Fresno State University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. She continued her education and received her Elementary Teaching Credential in 1972. Kathy was hired by the Los Banos Unified School District where during her 38 year career she taught at Charleston, Los Banos Elementary, Henry Miller and Miano schools. She taught a variety of grades from kindergarten to fourth including time as a special education teacher. If asked she would say that her favorite grade was kindergarten.
Kathy touched the lives of many children and was an advocate for those in most need. Working and teaching children was her passion. She loved having her students explore art using a variety of mediums. As a result her classrooms were always colorfully decorated especially for the holidays. She was a District mentor teacher in thematic instruction. Kathy developed several units that were used to teach students reading, writing and math based on science themes. One of which was the ocean, her other love. She loved spending time at the ocean especially in Santa Cruz and visited often.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents: Bob and Betty Sartor. She is survived by her brother, Kevin. As per her request there will be no services.
