In loving memory of

Deborah Ellen Brown
June 9, 1954 - February 10, 2021

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Deborah Ellen Brown, age 66. A kind, loving and compassionate mother and grandmother taken unexpectedly due to an undiagnosed heart condition. Deborah left our world very quickly and without prolonged suffering on February 10, 2021 in Ocala, Florida. She is survived by her three daughters; Jennifer L. Davida, Heather M. Johnson, Brittany L. Bigelow and her only son, Kevin Charles Lalka (a.k.a. K.C.), six grandchildren; Ava, Aurora, Myla, Adrian, Kenzie, and Spencer, and son-in-law, Michael Johnson. She also leaves behind hundreds of others who were always welcome in her home and in her heart, including her companion Paul, niece Kim and Kim's mother Connie, along with her dearly treasured relationships with all her cousins, a.k.a. the "Laura's" plus a special bond with "baby cousin" Laura and Bobby.

Debbie was a "Yorkville girl" through and through and was faithful to her Yorkville crew! She took her New York City strength and wit throughout all aspects of life and was a beacon of light to many who needed her experience and guidance in difficult times. She aspired to become a Life Coach and while she did not get an official title on her resume, anyone that knew mom, knew she was an amazing life coach with her consistent positivity, daily affirmations, and true inner wisdom. She attracted many friends with her smile, laughter, and dance moves (she could tear up the dance floor like nobody could). She had a radiant glow about her that no one will forget and a heart as big as the Big Apple just like her very own beautiful mother, Helen Brown whom she has now joined in heaven.

She had a full and fulfilling career life. Working at major banks and advertising and marketing firms in Manhattan. Management in human resources and commercial real estate with well sought-after companies. She had an entrepreneurial spirit that was brought out in both the restaurant and radio host industry. And really, that is just a part of her history. Deborah was known to push up her sleeves and get the job done like a consummate professional on anything she touched!

Throughout the years Deborah lived between New York, New Jersey, and Florida but her final years ultimately consisted mostly of living in Florida so she could be close to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and she made that known daily. She had a love for animals, her family, learning, travel, plays, writing, a good spa day and a good beer. She would pick dessert over dinner, make a friend of a foe and would be the first and last one off the dance floor.

To say that she will be deeply missed is an understatement.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Deborah on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
