Robert "Barney" Wolter, 91, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 25th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at North Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery.
Survivors include his son Timothy and wife Theresa of Badger, grandchildren Chris and Cortney.
He was preceded in death by his parents Barney and Anna (Lottman)Wolter, wife Shirley in 2012, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
Robert Barney Wolter was born on March 12, 1929 in Fonda. He was raised and educated in Fonda, graduating from Fonda High School in 1946. From 1946 to 1949 he served in the U.S. Army. On February 18, 1951 he was united in marriage to Shirley M. Olson at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The then couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Robert worked at Hormel's and retired in 1982.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
