In loving memory of

Edna Lewis Finch
October 17, 1931 - February 18, 2021

Edna Lewis Finch, age 89, of Cumming, GA passed into eternal rest on February 18, 2021 under the care of Agape Hospice of Northeast Georgia at her home, The Oaks at Post Road. Edna Grace Lewis was born to Hugh and Pattie Lewis on October 17, 1931 in Rocky Mount, NC. She grew up on the family farm in the Pinetops area of North Carolina and attended and graduated from Red Oak High School in Red Oak, NC. She served as class historian for her senior class and was voted as having the best hair, which she bequeathed to her sister Marie Lewis and her friend Myrtice Marks. After graduation, she worked as a telephone operator and married Tommy Finch on January 1, 1956. Edna and Tommy had four children: Thomas, Carol, Greg, and Brian. She loved to bake and garden, and loved birds and pretty flowers. Edna loved deeply and wide and had a quick wit that endeared her to family and friends alike. She loved and served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ first and foremost, but her family was a close second. She spoiled her kids as mothers do, but she gave the greatest portion of herself and her love to her 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren....and she was not shy about it at all. They were the apple of her eye and she "loved them to pieces." Her infectious smile and love of life will be missed, but her legacy and memory will live on in our hearts until we meet again on Jordan's shore or in the air when the trumpet sounds. Edna was preceded in death by her parents Hugh Earnest and Pattie Dunn Lewis, the love of her life Tommy Finch, 7 sisters and 2 brothers.

She is survived by her brother Bruce Lewis (NC), her Children Thomas L. Finch (MS), Carol Bowlin (FL), Greg Finch (GA), Brian Finch (GA), 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, two sisters in law, and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday morning, February 24, 2021, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming Ga.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 24, 2021 at 11:00 am in the chapel at Ingram Funeral Home, officiated by David Bowlin, Edna's son in law. "You don\'t know me, but I knew your Mom as a happy, sweet lady at The Oaks. Here\'s a funny story. My mom is Jean Finch (yes that\'s right - Finch) and has lived at The Oaks for almost 7 years. When your mom arrived, my mom couldn\'t believe that another Finch was going to reside at The Oaks, as it really isn\'t a very common name. Then to top it off, my mom\'s mother-in-law (my grandmother) was also EDNA FINCH!! So, needless to say we got a big kick out of that. However, as I got to know your mom, I realized she was the polar opposite of my grandmother, even though they may have shared the same name. My memories of your mom include a huge smiling face - always! I would come to visit my mom in the afternoons (before Covid of course) and Edna would be sitting out in family room/fireplace area. She would hold out her hand to me as I passed and I would grab on to it. She would always say \"Hey Jean\", even though I was Sally and my mom was Jean. The first few times I corrected her, but it didn\'t stick and I really didn\'t care that she called me Jean, as my name is Sally Jean, so it was all good with me. Your obituary describes her so very well - such big love for her family and everyone knew it. I will always remember her huge smile and happy spirit. May she now rest in peace with her adored husband. "
