LARRY R. GILBERTSON
March 17, 1946 - February 17, 2021

Larry R. Gilbertson, 74, of Marquette, died peacefully Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at his home, with his family by his side and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice.

He was born March 17, 1946, in Whitehall, Wisconsin, a son of the late Earl and Gladys (Halvorson) Gilbertson. He graduated from Granton High School in 1964.

Larry's work at Kentucky Fried Chicken brought him to the area in the early 1980's. He then worked in logistics at the former Marquette General Hospital and UP Health System-Marquette for more than 20 years. He also provided commercial snowplowing to customers for 33 years.

Larry was a board member of the former Michigan Waterfowl Association. His interests included spending time in the outdoors camping, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette "Berni" Reider of Marquette, whom he married on September 22, 2000 in Marquette; children, Denise (Robbie) Leabo of Champlin, MI and Doug (Bonita) Gilbertson of Negaunee; step-children, Rick LaJeunesse, Jr. of Green Bay, WI, Brad LaJeunesse of Green Bay, WI and Bill (Angela) Burdick of Gladstone, MI; grandchildren, Ashley, Kari, Tessa, Scott, Sage, Jayde, Hailey, Zander and Brianna; 5 great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.

Honoring Larry's wishes, there will be no services.
