"I am so sad to hear this. I knew she was doing cancer treatments and thought that the tough cookie she was, she would beat cancer. My heart grieves. Sherrie and I were friends/classmates at St. Stan\'s and Cotter. We were \"besties\" during the transition summer between 8th and 9th grade, 1970. We hung out most of those summer days on her front steps, listening to music, walking downtown, Steamboat Days, hitching rides out to the new Penney\'s store and mall. She was going to go to Sr. High for 9th grade, but she talked her parents into changing to Cotter. Because of her late registration at Cotter, her locker was on 1st floor while the rest of us freshmen had lockers on 3rd floor. She let me use her locker to store my books for certain classes. I also enjoyed the fact that her locker was by the Senior boys, as did she! First boyfriends lessened our times together, mostly my fault, but we were always friends. Another memory I have is of her basement having our own little party listening to Led Zeppelin and having a bottle of Boone\'s Farm. The beginnings of party times. My ice skates were lost in her basement for a few years and when finally retrieved the laces were gone. She blamed her brothers . :) I remember visiting her shared apartment near WSU while I was in college and meeting her roommates. Sherrie was never short on friends. In 2004 she stopped by my apartment and gave me a funny tee shirt to wear to our 30th high school class reunion. She chose not to go, but wanted to make sure I had a fun time without her. We talked of getting together with other St. Stan\'s friends (our 8th grade clique) every time we ran into each other in Winona. Sadly we never had that reunion. My thoughts and prayers are for her, her family and friends who must be feeling a tremendous loss. I always think of her as so kind and giving. So many will miss her. Love to you my old friend, I hope your dad, our school friends Jean, Lynn and other loved ones gave you a great welcome to heaven. Marilyn "

"Rebecca Kujak, The picture of Sherrie just says it all. She always had that beautiful smile. She was such a kind and fun loving person to hang with. She was always ready to try a new adventure, and gave it so much zest. She loved life to the fullest and gave it all she had. I am blessed to of had her as my cousin and friend. Sherrie and her family mean the world to me, you just couldn?t know better people. I am saddened for their loss of such a beautiful soul. Sherrie is now at peace, it is us that she left behind that will need to move forward without her. For me, I now have another ?Sweet Angel? to watch over me. "Sherrie there is so much we will all miss about you. Ever since I\'ve known you back when I was a teenager all the way up to your passing, you have always been so positive and sweet and caring. You had so much joy in your and the biggest heart I\'ve ever known. I haven\'t seen you in person for a long time but I always love to see your posts on social media.
