"Dear friends and family of Eric: I am so very sorry to learn of Eric\'s passing. I know that you will miss him greatly but I am sure that you are comforted in knowing that he is with the Lord now. Eric was one of my most cherished friends in high school. He was so full of fun and laughter. I am not surprised to hear that he became a first responder. I am certain he found it very gratifying to be of service to the community. He was such a caring person, always giving of his time, attention and energy to his friends and fellow students. "
"Dear Gertrude, Sheila and other relatives, including cousin Frances Brown of Houston, I am so very sorry to learn of Eric\'s transition. His aunt Mary and uncle Curtis introduced me to him years ago when they were in Prairie View, Texas . When I met him with his parents, Gertrude and \"Hamp,\" he was even more courteous, kind and thoughtful as I had been told. He will be missed greatly but his laughter and his love will remain forever. Prayerfully, Dr. Emma Joahanne Thomas-Smith, Houston "
