Due to the inclement weather conditions, this morning's visitation for Jamie Thomas have been rescheduled.
Although the family will not be present, the funeral home will be open today from 10:30 AM until 12 Noon to receive guests, Visitation with the family present has been rescheduled until Tuesday, February 16th from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM with a brief concluding service at 5:00 PM.
Jamie Louise Cairney Thomas, age 35, of Fairmont passed away suddenly Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home.
Jamie was born July 26, 1985 in Morgantown, WV. She is the daughter of the late Fred Cairney, and Debra Kay (Funk) Cairney Summers who survives her.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by six children, James Downey, Christopher Thomas, Alexis Thomas, Edward Thomas, Lilliana Thomas, and Skyla Thomas; her sister, Kimberly Hager; her maternal grandmother, Sarah "Wezzie" Gabbert; her boyfriend, Landon Herndon; and her step-father, Gary Swinburn.
In addition to her father, Jamie was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Gabbert; paternal grandparents Fred Cairney, Sr., and Bob and Barbara Mayhew; and two aunts, Gina Gabbert and Julie Cairney.
Jamie was a loving a devoted mother. She enjoyed helping to take care her aunt Gina during her life, and all her family for whatever they may have needed. Jamie enjoyed all different kinds of music.
Friends may join the family to honor Jamie's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover / Morgantown on Tuesday, February 16th from 3:30 PM until 5:00 PM, at which time a brief service will be held.
Guests must wear a face covering, practice social distancing, and keep your visitation with the family to 15 minutes or less.

She would always tell me how strong I was and how she wished to be able to be as strong as me but she was always the strongest of us she always protected us I?m going to spend the rest of my life half a person but she is gone , I love you Jaime "
