I feel sadness for the family having to loose such a hard working father, grand father, uncle and the many other titles Marly acquired over the years. He led by example and never last sight of his goal for himself and them. He loved his family, his farm, and everything that connected them. Most of all he loved his Lord. We can rest assured he is again reunited with Anita and enjoying the mansions God had prepared for them. Ridgeway, MN - Marlin M. Gady, 84, of Ridgeway, MN passed away comfortably at his home on Thursday, February 4, 2021, surrounded by his children.
Marlin was born on July 29, 1936, in La Crosse, WI to Walter and Louise (Lassen) Gady. Marlin lived in Nodine, MN until he met and married the love of his life, Anita Page on September 22, 1956. Together the couple farmed and raised their children. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Church in Nodine where he was on the church council, was an elder, and served on the building committee of St. John's School.
Marlin was a dedicated and hard-working farmer. He enjoyed taking care of his farm animals (especially the pigs). He worked his land with pride using his I.H. equipment. Marlin also enjoyed sharing his knowledge of running his historical thrashing machine for the local community.
He loved a bowl of chocolate ice cream with the kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and anyone else who was visiting.
Marlin is survived by his children: Karen Jonsgaard of Houston, MN, Bob and Cindy Gady of Ridgeway, MN, Janel Rediske of Pickwick, MN, Donna Gady of Ridgeway, MN, and Tim and Joannie Gady of Houston, MN; grandchildren: Carissa Gady, Wynn (John), Kamera, and LaShonda Jonsgaard, Adam and Alicia Gady, Sara Ronnenberg, Erin (Ryan), Eric and Sammy Gady, Tyler and Kenndera, Josh and Jordan Rediske, Kelsie and Mike Horst, Christopher (Raylynn) Gady, and Sam and Cedar Netwal; Great-grandchildren: Jakcob, Alyssa, Hayden, Jaycie, Abriella, Vincent, Phoenix, Mable Jean, Augustus, Julia, Huckston, Corbin, Aurora, Sterling, Olivia and Henry; sisters: Irene (Ken) Boldt and Sharon (Jerome) Unnasch; brothers-in-law: Ron Scheck, John Rossin, Bill and Helen McNally and Tom and Pat Page; by very best friends, David and Kay Vanderzee; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita on July 8th 2016; his parents; and sisters: Marlene Bahler, Delaine Scheck and Carol Rossin.
Marlin was loved and respected by his family, church, and community.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at St. John's Lutheran Church multi-purpose room in Nodine with the Pastor Dennis Harbach officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the multi-purpose room. Burial will be in the church cemetery. All COVID 19 restrictions will be in place. The family would like to give a special thank you to Pastor Dennis Harbach, Winona Health Hospice, Rushford Clinic, Mayo Health System, Hoff Funeral Home and the friends and family who came to visit Marlin.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to the St. John's Lutheran Church and School in Nodine.
