"To the family: I knew Shirley as a tremendous woman of faith in her work. Shirley was the hallmark of a Christian because she took time to help those folks who had less than nothing. She worked the finances so people stayed safe and received care they needed. She never judged nor slighted folks based on name or income. She worked late and she worked overtime to help folks in need. She missed family events so strangers had a home at WNC. Her dedication was only exceeded by her kindness. I shall miss her smile leaving church, but I know she enjoys a heavenly reward for work well done on earth."
