Survived by his beloved daughter son-in-law Kelli Doug DeWaal; step-daughters Michele (Peter) Klees, Christine (Peter) Macaluso Valerie Leipold; grandchildren Justin Kacie Leigh DeWaal, Stephen, Jason, Adam Shane Leipold; great- grandchild Perri Leipold; brother Bill (Peggy) McWhinney; sisters Jean (Fred) Vanderbrook June McWhinney; sister-in-law Virginia McWhinney; many nieces nephews.



History

Jim has been a wonderful father to his daughter Kelli and step-daughters Michele, Christine, and Valerie. He was a loving grandfather to all of his grandchildren. To them, he was simply "Pa". He loved to spend time with them whether it was playing video games or cheering them on at school activities. Jim enjoyed watching football on Sundays cheering his team on. During the spring and summer, he spent many days riding his bike along the canal. He also enjoyed reading. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but always lovingly remembered.



Services

Visitation Sunday 1-5 PM. James' Funeral Service will be held 10AM Monday at the funeral home.



Additional Information

Jim was a veteran of the United States Army. He proudly served his country from 1948 - 1951. While in the service, he received culinary training. He went on to become a well-known chef at many local country clubs eventually owning his own restaurant. He has since been enjoying his retirement for many years.
