History

Father Bovenzi graduated from Aquinas Institute in 1956. In 1968 he received his bachelor`s degree in sacred theology (S.T.B.) from the University of St. Michael`s College at the University of Toronto. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Assumption University in Windsor, Ontario. Father Bovenzi received his master of arts degree from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in 1972. In 1983 he joined the campus ministries staff at St. John Fisher College. He was named Vicar General of the Basilian Fathers from 1985-89. He was the congregation`s spokesman in the the various Basilian apostolates in the United States, Canada, France and Mexico. He was the pastor of Holy Spirit Parish in London, Ontario in 1989. He came back to Rochester in 2000 to be counselor and a campus ministry staff member at St. John Fisher.

Services

Father Angelo's visitation will be at the Sisters of St. Joseph's Motherhouse, 150 French Rd., Thursday 2-8 PM, vigil service 8 PM. His Funeral mass will be Friday 10:30 AM at the Motherhouse. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

"Michelle m wright Relation to Deceased: friend i remember Fr Angelo when I was young my family and I would be in the pew and we used to sit at the end of the pew for FrAngelo shake our hand we loved it when he shook our hands hard all the kids used to stand in line for Fr Angelo to shake thier hands he also married us he was a great person We hold you close within our hearts and there you shall remain. To walk with us throughout our lives until we meet again. So rest in peace Dear loved one and thanks for all you've done. We pray that God has given you the crown you've truly won."
