January 6, 2021. Gayle is predeceased by her husband, Charles Vance; father, Joseph Specksgoor brother, Michael Specksgoor. She is survived by her children, Michelle Coniglio Scott Vance; granddaughter, Haley Coniglio; mother, Genevieve Specksgoor; brothers Paul Specksgoor Peter (Debra) Specksgoor; nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends.
Gayle's services and burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery were held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Veteran's Outreach Center, 459 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14620 in her memory.
Gayle was born in Rochester, NY March 26, 1949. Her parents, Joseph Genevieve Specksgoor's family consisted of 4 children, Gayle her brothers, Michael, Peter Paul Specksgoor.
In 1968 Gayle met the love of her life, Chuck Vance. They married May 22, 1971. Just shy of their first wedding anniversary they welcomed their daughter, Michelle in 1972. Their family was complete with the birth of their son Scott, in 1976.
In 1982 Gayle her family went to Disney World for the first of many trips there. This was the beginning of many fond memories for the entire family.
Gayle loved spending time at the family cottage built by her dad, in the 1000 Islands. She was most happy sitting in her Adirondack chair by the water reading her book anticipating the sunrise or sunset.
Gayle loved country music. At home, she played it loud and always sang along. Her love of country music and travel brought her to one of her favorite spots, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.
In her earlier days, Gayle's friends recall the many nights spent line dancing. Gayle also loved jewelry. How these two come together is interesting. Her girlfriends recall Gayle going to work and bringing a change of clothing to go out line dancing after work. The funny part of this story was that her jewelry had to be just right. One could not expect Gayle to merely change her clothes. The jewelry needed to be changed as well!
Once her children got older Gayle could not wait to pack her bags on another adventure with Chuck. The two travelled all over the country together. Their love of seeing new things took them on vacations 2 or 3 times a year.
Certainly, Gayle had her favorite spots. What pleased her the most was being in these different locations with Chuck.
Gayle was a loving grandmother. She adored Haley and spending time with her was an absolute joy for Gayle. Some of the things the two did together included, crafts, playing games, shopping or just going to lunch. Every weekend Gayle, Michelle Haley would go shopping and stop for lunch together.
She would do anything for her family. They were her whole world. Gayle's family remembers her fondly with a smile on her face, positive outlook on life and kindhearted nature.
Gayle was a beautiful person to know and love. She was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She relished the moments in her life when she could bring joy to the ones she loved.
Her bubbly personality, sweet and thoughtful ways will be deeply missed by her family and her many special friends.

"I used to hang out with Gayle, Lissa, Nancy & Marianna for years when we all worked at the phone company (Frontier). We played annually in the miniature golf tournament downtown to support mental health. She loved Mexican food (not my favorite) but always went just to be with my friends. We all lost touch (although I am still close to Marianna), but I have always thought of Gayle and those times fondly. I am very sorry and will keep her family in my thoughts and prayers. "I was so very sorry to hear of Gayle's passing. Although I moved out of the area, I had always hope to reconnect with her. After high school, she and I took several fun day trips, went to dances and were together when she met her husband. She was such fun to be around, although I couldn't get her to learn to drive! It would have been to remember that good time together."
