Louis was born on March 24, 1928 to Louis and Grace Ricci in Rochester, NY. He grew up with his younger brother, Geremia and Louis was a very pampered little boy. He was a proud graduate of Aquinas Institute in 1947. Louis played football and boxed in high school. He was also the first in his family to have obtained a college degree. Louis earned his bachelor's and master's degree at Brockport College. He was genuinely interested in his students lives and goals, especially when sports were involved. Louis was a teacher in the Rochester City School District for over 30 years. He was a great mentor to his students as a former student still remembers having him for a teacher in elementary school. He enjoyed reading, "Where the Red Fern Grows" to his students. Louis also coached football at Monroe High School. He met his wife, Gilda at a college graduation party. It was love at first sight for Louis and they married on January 30, 1954 at St. Patrick's Church in Rochester, NY. Louis and Gilda went on to have 4 children, Phillip, Louis III, Anthony and Grace Ann. He is very proud of his 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons with another due in September. Louis was very supportive of his grandchildren's sporting events as he loved to attend and watch them play. During his free time, Louis liked to golf as he was a member of the Brown Square Club Golf League. However, he was never really good at it, but was a considered a "great putter." Louis also enjoyed bowling through the Good Counsel. He loved watching sports, particularly Notre Dame football team. he liked listening to show tunes and his favorite show was "Mama Mia." Friends were important to Louis as he maintained his childhood friendships for 80 years. Louis was known to be kind, loyal and thoughtful. He was very playful, social and was described as a big kid at heart. Louis will be greatly missed and always lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

"Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear, loved one. Death is hard to deal with. Even Jesus gave way to tears when Lazarus died (John 11:35). But our Heavenly Father views death as an enemy and promises to put an end to it (1 Cor 15:26). We can look forward to being reunited with our loved ones again."

"I would like to offer my deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. Although this is a difficult time, you can be assured that God cares for your family and can be a source of comfort (2 Corinthians 1: 3, 4). He also promises a time soon when death will be brought to nothing (1 Corinthians 15: 26, Isaiah 25:8). We can look forward to such a joyous time. For additional information, please visit jw.org."

"My sincere condolences to Louis' wonderful family. I have known them for many years as his wife Gilda and I worked together at RG&E. She was one of my best friends and it was my pleasure to know the Trottos and Riccis, since she and I met at RG&E. Their love for their family was the greatest gift they gave their children. Louie and Gilda were so proud of all of them, their children, grand-children and great grandchildren. Their family always came first and I know the children will always have wonderful memories of the Sunday dinners and family vacations. My deepest sympathies to Louie and Gilda's family. I, too, will miss Louie & Gilda, as they were a wonderful part of my life.
All my love to Pillip, Louis III, Anthony, Grace and their families.

"To The Ricci Family,
Uncle Junior - as I called him :-)was a wonderful man. I always remember as a kid how scared I was of him and he seemed so stern. I would watch the boys lined up on the couch and I would be jumping like an animal. As I became an adult I saw him so differently. He was kind, considerate, nice sense of humor, honest, compassionate and respectful and so much more. My mother loved him and was so proud of him. When she was living, he came to my house every day with a loaf of bread to visit Aunt Louise. Of course she was his snacks and candy source. He always bragged about how my father drove him to Brockport college every day and they made it in record time. Always plenty of memories. He lived a wonderful life and loved his beautiful family. I am glad I was able to say my final good-bye and thank him and tell him I love him! My Deepest Sympathy and my he RIP. Love you All...Cousin Annie xoxox"
