"Dear Joannie,Chuck and Girls...Marie was a lovely and very pretty lady. I remember the first time I visited the infamous ROMEYN ST.where it seemed like everyone in Rochester had their beginnings. Going over to the Bertino home next door to the Tantalo/Antonucci home,I felt quite welcomed not only by Joannie who was our friend but by Marie, Joe, Carl, Uncle Lou, Priscilla, Aunt Carm and a host of others and that was just for "COFFEE AND". This was an indoctrination of sorts to Romeyn St.; a street like no other where friends were family for life, a street that had its own theme song.."We're the kids from Romeyn St.,.....". If life could have emulated that time of happiness and innocence then we would all be living in perfection. Now Joe, Anna,Dom, Gram Teresa, Mary, Villa, Josephine,Casey,the Lingesso's, the Ferlisi's, and even Joannie Rivaldo, Mary Jane and Teddy, surely reside on a golden ROMEYN BLVD IN HEAVEN and welcomed Marie HOME forever. Gates: February 9, 2015 at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Joseph Bertino; sister, Carmella Lombard; brothers, Angelo, Joseph Dominic Borrelli. Survived by her devoted daughter, Joan (Charles) Muscolino; son, Carl Bertino; loving daughter-in-law, Shari Viscomi; cherished grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) LaDue, Jaclynn Muscolino, Carla (Tom Brownell) Rhodes, Joseph (Trichia) Bertino, Thomas (Shireen Abbasey) Bertino, Jeremy Bertino; 15 great-grandchildren; many loving nieces nephews. Marie's family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Lakeside Beikirch Care Center 3rd Floor for their loving care and concern for nearly 10 years.
Marie's visitation will be 5-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Ln (between 390 Long Pond Rd). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 AM on Tuesday at St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Rd. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeside Beikirch Care Center, 170 West Ave, Brockport NY 14420 in Marie's memory.
