Dan was born on March 5th 1949 to James and Josephine Markese in Rochester, NY. Dan had many childhood memories that he cherished throughout his life. Family camping trips and vacations in the Thousand Islands and celebrating Christmas at his grandparent's house with his siblings and cousins. During his teen years, Dan enjoyed hanging out and having fun with lots of friends. He liked going fishing, attending concerts and ball games.
Dan's career led him to many places, Touche Ross, Keelox Manufacturing Co. and the City of Rochester. He met his wife, Iolanda at Keelox, where he never forgot his first encounter with her. Iolanda brought him into the interview with the manager and Dan noticed how beautiful she was. His memory of this day always remained vivid in his mind. He also held very fond memories of many special people during his time working for the City of Rochester.
Dan was a wonderful father, provider and husband. He was so sincere in his relationships with his family and friends. Dan's children were always his pride and joy, and later on his grandchildren. He loved his wife's cooking and always looked out for his family and his clients that he worked with. Some of Dan's proudest moments in life was the birth of his three children. He loved to travel, especially to Florida every year with his family. His hobbies were watching the Stock Market, going to baseball games and playing and managing his own softball team. In time, Dan loved to cheer his grandson on at his baseball games. He cherished the times he took his children fishing when they were young and eventually he took his grandchildren fishing too.
Dan's favorite sports teams were the NY Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. His favorite music was Rock N' Roll and Jazz. His favorite artists were The Beatles, Bruce Springstein, Carlos Santana and many more. Dan enjoyed good, homemade food and would tell Iolanda about every meal- "This is my favorite!" His family said that Dan would always expressively say- "What? Are you kidding me?" after hearing any story that was told to him.
Dan is described as a hard worker, reliable, humble and quietly confident. He would put his family above all else in his life. His family recalled Dan's favorite saying to his family, which was- "Do the best job you are able to do with everything you set out for." He was known to enjoy the best things that life has to offer, which is good times with his friends and family. Dan will be dearly missed and always lovingly remembered by everyone who knew him.

"I am saddened by Dan's passing. I was fortunate to have known him through high school (AQ Class of '67), working at the City of Rochester, and several golf outings. Though I didn't spend a great deal of time with him, those times were memorable. I will miss him.
"A man who has raised a good family who become good people
A man who is true to himself and brings a smile with him wherever he goes,
A man who has friends from all the days of his life,
This man will live on
And never be forgotten."
RIP my friend.
