Chris Wegman wrote on Apr 30, 2013:

"Dad, You taught me and my siblings the most important life lesson, the same one Jesus taught, 'we exist for each other'. This is why it hurts so much when someone as important as you in our lives leaves us, and more so, why we pull closer together afterwards. We will coninute to love one another as He, and you, have loved us. Thanks, Dad, for a great life and a great example of how to live it. Love, Chris"

Barbie wrote on Apr 28, 2013:

"Thanks for a lifetime of sacrifice! You will always be the man I try to model myself after! Now I have yet another reason to reach Heaven! With your help I will! Even when I visit your final resting place, I will have someone to look up to! I love you!"

Lauren Mussler wrote on Apr 28, 2013:

"My father was a wonderful person. I never really got to know him until I married, that's when he retired, and I left home. He volunteered with a stroke group and then began a stroke victim. I then had a captive audience. I never learned what he did for the goverment while working for Kodak (ITT)until recently, he wasn't allowed to share. Daddy and I have countless amazing memories together. One day he suffered yet another stroke and didn't seem to know who I was anymore..but then I realized it didn't matter, I knew him. We watched musicals, attended Broadway shows, we sang, we laughed, and he smiled his priceless smile. He gave me that smile the very last time he was awake, last Tuesday. I whispered in his ear how I appreciated how he came back to us..even for one week and allowed us to say goodbye and spend time with him. That was his final act in being an amazing father comforting us and letting us know of his love and strength."

Dan Wegman II wrote on Apr 27, 2013:

"a Neuro surgeon for support, and he said "his survival and prognosis at this point are largely up to him." Recalling this, an easiness came over me. Because it was at that moment that I realized that you didnt lose your battle... You had actually won. You fought with grace and dignity and did it on your terms. So gramps, In the words of your hero Ronald Reagan, when you were ready, you "slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of god" I love you and I am so proud of you."

dan Wegman II wrote on Apr 27, 2013:

"when I got the call that you had left us, the first thing I remembered was when you came home from the hospital. You were watching the sound of music and uncle Chris and I tried to entertain you by speaking in German and reciting some German proverbs that uncle Chris learned years ago when he traveled there for work. I began "gramps, a strudel a day..." Uncle Chris continued "keeps the kaiser away!" I haven't seen you smile that big in years. A week prior I had consulted a friend of mine who is"

"Dad, I learned so much from the way you lived your life. Love, respect, family, loyalty, responsibility, dedication and so much more. I am who I am, because you showed me how. We always understood each other and respected each others point of view. You taught me never to accept anything less that the best from myself. When I didn't make the grade, you didn't fail me. You encouraged me to take the chance again the next time. Failure was not an option, it was an opportunity. I love you Dad and will always remember my lessons."
