When Fred graduated from High School, he enlisted in the Army at the age of 18. Was in WWII from 1942 to 1945. While in the Army, Fred received a Purple Heart. When he returned home, he went to work for Delco Products. He worked there for over 30 years, as a Supervisor. While there, he met Anna Marie Fasano, in 1968 along with her children and they were married January 2, 1969.

Fred enjoyed being with his family and their Sunday Dinners. He liked golf, and he played daily, and playing poker, he even traveled to casinos. He was a coin collector, he loved ice cream, he was a Mr. Fix It. He liked to play solitaire, pogo, euchre and enjoyed going out to dinner with friends. He was a fan of country music and a fan of Jack Nicholas. The best way to describe Fred is that he was a hard working man, he was humble, quiet, but social, he was a great listener and he always put others first. He was a great man and will be missed by all who new him.

"Dear Aunt Anne and family, we have so many memories of you and uncle Fred visiting with us in Ma. You were so good to spend time with our family and enable my mom to visit us!!! You have been so kind to mom after dad died. She couldn't have made it without you. We all loved when you came especially our children. Mark loved spending endless hours sitting on Fred's lap watching Pinocchio. Chris loved sharing with Fred! They had a lot in common especially their love of golf. Chris remembers him being such a gentle man who loved golf, cadillacs and coffee. We learned how to make coffee properly from uncle Fred!!! Thank you for always having our family to your pool on visits back to Rochester in summer. We didn't get many invitations. Noone but you could take our big family. I loved your cooking especially Uncle Fred'd ribs!!! You are wonderful Aunt Anne, thank you for always being there for our family in times of celebration and times of sorrow. We have been blessed to have you and Uncle Fred in our lives and will continue to hold you in our prayers and hearts as you and your children go thru these days ahead. So sad we cannot give you hugs now but feel it is better not to make the trip in bad weather. Know we will always cherish Fred and his goodness and you as well!!! Love you and know how much mom would be there for you if she could as you have always been there for her!!! Love Joanne and Chris"
