Moll, Richard

CAPE VINCENT/ ROCHESTER - Born March 23rd, 1940, died June 30, 2019 award-winning carver, Formula Vee racer, and fine dining restaurateur Richard E. Moll was known for his love of family, racing, art, and music--particularly jazz and opera. Charismatic, curious, and open-minded, Moll garnered a large following of loyal customers upon opening his first restaurant in Rochester at the age of 30, Dick Moll's. Despite his unique path, Moll remained the quintessential family man, devoted to his wife, son, and daughter Nancy, who passed from cancer in 2005. He is survived by his wife Rosalyn Moll, son Rick Moll, grandchildren Matthew (Rachelle) Abernathy and Ian Abernathy, brother Mike (Ellie) Moll, and many other loving family and friends.

Richard's life story will be shared during his visitation, Thursday, July 11th, 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 & Long Pond Rd.). In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons St., PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057 in Richard's memory.

"We are saddened to learn of Dick`s passing. My condolences to Rosalyn and the family. My dad brought me to Moll`s for our birthday`s and said it was the best steak house in Rochester, and he was right. Well needless to say we went there every year plus other occasions. The Moll`s always made you feel special when you went there and the food was the best in the city. Todd & Lee Collins"
