Willie James Hatfield
July 25, 1942 - January 25, 2021

Willie James Hatfield, 78, a resident of Peoria, Arizona passed away on January 25, 2021. He was born in 1942 in Ransom, Kentucky to Willie and Martha Hatfield. He attended Belfry High School in Kentucky. He moved to North Carolina where he met and married the love of his life in 1969, Lois Barber Burch. He moved to Phoenix with his wife and became a loving father to 3 step-children - Candace, Angel (who passed in 2018) and Edward Burch. Later a daughter was bord, Zethina Hatfield. He and his wife owned a catering business in Scottsdale for 36 years. He retired as a security officer in 2018. He had a passion for his family and friends, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and playing slots at casinos. He is survived by his wife Lois, daughter Zethina Haehl, step-daughter Candace Spennato of California, step-son Edward Burch of North Carolina, daughter-in-law Pam Burch, 3 sons-in-law David Elquest, Brett Haehl and Peter Spennato, Jr., 4 grandchildren Terek and Jack Haehl and Stephen and Christina Spennato, brothers Verlan and Kenner Ray Hatfield and sister Lena Gay Oshields. Willie was predeceased by his step-daughter Angel Elquest who passed in 2018, his sister Anna Mae Hatfield and his parents Willie and Martha Hatfield.

He was my best friend, lover and constant companion for 52 loving years of marriage. He was the most affectionate, tender, kind and attentive husband any woman would ask for. Without him the light has gone from my life. There is a big hole in my heart! I look forward to the day when I shall be with him again in heaven.

A memorial to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
